Household Hazardous Waste

Overview

Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are those wastes produced in our households that are hazardous in nature. Included are such items as:
  • Old paints and paint-related products
  • Pesticides
  • Pool chemicals
  • Used oil
  • Almost any other product labeled dangerous, flammable, corrosive, combustible, poisonous, or toxic

Such consumer waste products if managed carelessly can (and frequently do) create environmental and public health hazards.

Where to Take These Products

Inver Grove Heights residents are encouraged to take their household hazardous wastes to the Dakota County Recycling Zone, located 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan. To see a list of accepted items visit the Materials Accepted webpage. More information such as hours of operation, prices, and more can also be found on the Recycling Zone website.
