Since the adoption of the American's with Disabilities Act of 1990, The City of Inver Grove Heights strives to provide accessible pedestrian features as part of the City's Capital Improvement Projects.
The City has updated their procedures to accommodate federal guidelines and MnDOT guidelines. The maintenance of pedestrian facilities within the public right of way has followed the practices set forth by the City. The City also has annual street improvement projects, pedestrian trail, ramps and exterior accessible walks dedicated to abiding to the ADA requirements.
The City developed a draft transition plan to establish policies that fit in with best management practices. To learn more about the City's plan, review the draft transition plan and upcoming open house.
