The Parks & Recreation Department is able to offer Youth leagues, often in partnership with local associations, for several different sports and kids of all ages. Our leagues offer positive environments for participants to grow and compete in, while building team values and ensuring all players get to participate in games.
You can register for many of the IGH-led leagues online under "Browse Leagues" or by calling us at 651-450-258 or in-person at the Parks & Recreation office at 8055 Barbara Ave from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.!
Check these partnership sites for registration directly through them:
U11 Minor - Kid-Pitch (Ages 10-11) (IGH Baseball Association)
Fastpitch Softball - Ages 6-16 (IGH Fastpitch Softball)
Weather Impacts for city-led programs and activities
Wondering if your practice or game is still on due to inclement weather? IGHs Weather Hot Line (651-450-2595) is the only place to check the status for city-led program and events due to inclement weather. We strive to update by 4:30 p.m. After hours, it is up to the coaches and instructors to make the final decision.
Many of our youth leagues depend on volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. Don’t have a lot of experience? Not a problem! Programs are conducted on a "participation" philosophy that emphasizes play and environment. Success is never measured in wins and losses. Parks & Recreation staff conducts training for all coaches to get them started. Please call 651-450-2585 if you are interested in coaching!
