Commerical Property Maintenance
The City Council is seeking citizen input on a draft ordinance regarding commercial property maintenance.  The ordinance would require that businesses adequately maintain their building exteriors, parking lots, signs, lawns, and fire protection systems.

For example, a commercial building would be required to establish a lawn within one year of completing the building and maintain it so it does not exceed eight inches in height.  A parking lot would be required to be maintained free from hazardous conditions that endanger persons or property.

The public hearing to discuss this matter at the Planning Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4.

Depending on Planning Commission action, the first reading of the Ordinance would most likely go to the City Council on Monday, April 24.
